Social Media Influencer, gagabay sa 93-araw na weight loss program ng PNP

Itinalaga ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang fitness vlogger na si Rendon Labador upang pamunuan ang 93-araw na programa para sa pagbabawas ng timbang ng mga pulis, alinsunod sa direktiba ni PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Ang programa, na ilulunsad ngayong Miyerkules sa Camp Crame, ay bahagi ng kampanya ng PNP na tiyaking sumusunod ang mga miyembro nito sa itinakdang timbang sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 6975. Ayon sa Section 30, Paragraph 1 ng nasabing batas, ang mga pulis ay dapat hindi lumagpas o kulang ng higit sa limang kilo mula sa standard weight na nakaayon sa kanilang taas, edad, at kasarian.

“We will monitor them. We will take note of their weight. We will work out at the same time and we will monitor them weekly,” ani Labador sa panayam ng mga mamamahayag nitong Huwebes sa Camp Crame.

Si Labador, kilala sa kanyang mga social media posts hinggil sa disiplina at pag-eehersisyo, ay tinapik ng Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) sa pamumuno ni Brig. Gen. Marvin Saro upang pangunahan ang proyekto. Libre ang kanyang serbisyo, gayundin ng mga coach at nutritionist na kasama niya.

“Just call me the national coach of the police,” biro pa niya.

Dagdag niya, personal sa kanya ang proyekto dahil pulis ang kanyang ama. “A fit police officer has more credibility and [is] considered more trustworthy,” aniya. “We are public servants, so we show that in our discipline, our credibility. Our physical appearance is part of what strengthens that.”

Inisyal na 150 pulis ang sasabak sa programa. Bukod dito, inatasan na rin ni Gen. Torre ang mga mobile force personnel na magsagawa ng pisikal na aktibidad tuwing Martes at Huwebes ng hapon.

Una nang nagbabala si PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo na ang mga pulis na dalawang beses babagsak sa physical fitness test ay sasailalim sa retraining at maaaring hindi mapromote.
