The office of Palawan 3rd district Congressman Gil Acosta Jr. is now preparing for the distribution of relief goods to the different barangays of Puerto Princesa City and Aborlan town.
Puerto Princesa is a highly urbanized city that has 66 barangays while the municipality of Aborlan has 19 barangays.
Congressman Acosta in his social media post said that they will deliver the rice, canned goods, and instant noodles to the barangay, who will be tasked to distribute it to their respective constituents.
He said that he is aware that still substantial number of residents in the barangay have not receive relief goods from their respective barangays due to limited resources.
The congressman said that he is currently in Manila and is considered as Person Under Monitoring (PUM) having been exposed to individuals who are coronavirus disease (Covid)-19 positive.
Despite that, he said that he and his office are working hard to extend assistance and deliver services to Palawan’s 3rd district, particularly Puerto Princesa City and the municipality of Aborlan.
“Bagamat si Cong. Atty. Gil A. Acosta Jr. ay nasa ka-Maynilaan at Person Under Monitoring dahil siya ay Umattend sa Session sa Committee on Appropriation at Committee on Health at kanyang naka salamuha ang mga Kongresista at Resource Person na nag positibo sa COVID19, ay patuloy parin ang paglilingkod sa ating mga Kabarangay sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa at sa Bayan ng Aborlan,” a statement further said.
Cong. Acosta also provided support to frontliners such as Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, doctors and nurses. His office provided food both in hospitals and checkpoints during the start of the heightened quarantine measures this mid-March 2020. His office also provided washable masks, disposable masks, alcohol, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), N95 masks, to personnel that manned the checkpoints, Coop Hospital, Adventist Hospital and Ospital ng Palawan (ONP).
