“There will always be a reaction to some vaccine, any vaccine for that matter [at] hindi lang po sa COVID-19 vaccine. Tama po na magkaroon ng reaksyon [and] majority of them are what we actually call Reactogenic Reactions or the inflammatory response that occurs after any vaccination. And, mind you, please do not equate reactogenic reactions with allergic reactions [because] they are not the same.”

“Who can receive naman the COVID-19 vaccines? Those with a history of rashes to oral medicine [ay] maaari rin po maka- receive ng COVID-19 vaccine.”

However, they must be informed that the information on such cases is still lacking and that the immune response to vaccine may be reduced. So, until we get further studies on this kind of grouping then hindi po natin masasabi talaga kung the same lang po yung reaction [o] immune response sa vaccine or reduced because of your use of immunosuppressants or because of the presence of autoimmune diseases. But they may receive the COVID-19 vaccine even patients with Bell’s Palsey…“

“So who should not receive the COVID-19 vaccine? Patients with immediate allergic reaction whether mild to severe such as anaphylaxis to the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is in the case of those who have already been given the COVID-19 vaccine and are slated to get the second dose. Also, those with a history of allergic reaction to any component of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) or polysorbate.”

All these reactions will actually be noted and yun nga po para ma-monitor po right after your vaccination. But, of course, meron pa rin po puwedeng mangyari within 1 to 4 hours when you’re at home resting so dapat din po ma-report yun kung mangyari man po yun.”
