A team from the Office of the Vice President is expected to arrive today in Puerto Princesa City to extend the COVID-19 Response Initiative to some hospitals and to the IMT.

In VP Leni Robredo’s post yesterday through her social media account, she shared that her team will bring with them their Palawan version of COVID-19 Response Initiative.

“When we read about the surge in Palawan, we got in touch with Puerto Princesa Mayor Cecil Bayron. He linked us up with Dr. Dean Palanca, head of the Incident Management Team who briefed us of the situation on the ground,” the Vice President said.

She added that she got in touch with her cousin and baptismal goddaughter who is now currently living in the City to help her team get in touch with the people and groups whom they can partner with.

Because of that, her team was able to have a zoom meeting last May 24 with the said group. After the meeting with their private partners, they had a series of meetings with Dr. Palanca.

She thanked the local government of Puerto Princesa and their partners, Mr. Mackie Baluyut of the Palawan State University; Dr. Adelito Posas, PMMG PMC – Palawan Medical Missions Group, Multipurpose Cooperative Hospital; Dr. Paul Warren Saludez of the Palawan Medical Society and Mr. Mark Terrence Law of Skylight Hotel (Quarantine Facility).
