The Puerto Princesa City Health Office (CHO) is now facing problems with the lack of a second dose of Gamaleya Sputnik V vaccine, Health Officer Dr. Ricardo Panganiban said on Monday, August 9.

According to Dr. Panganiban, this is a problem of all Local Government Units (LGUs) as well as the National Government because Russia has not yet delivered the said vaccine.

Dr. Panganiban said to Palawan Daily News.

Panganiban added that, according to the Department of Health (DOH), after the recipient receives the first dose of Sputnik V, there are 42 days to wait for the arrival of the second dose. They will also find way to address in the event it will exceed 42 days for second dose.

He said that they will not accept the first dose of the said vaccine without the second dose.

Panganiban explained.

Based on the latest data of the Incident Management Team (IMT) as of August 1, 2021, a total of 5,396 people has been vaccinated with the first dose and only 276 with the second dose of Gamaleya Sputnik V vaccine.
