Sangguniang Panlalawigan welcomes Atty. Cojamco as a newly appointed PIO

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Tuesday, August 10, welcomed the newly appointed Provincial Information Officer (PIO) during their 103rd Regular Session.

Atty Christian Jay Cojamco replaced former PIO Winston Arzaga after he resigned on July 31.

Cojamco formally took office as head of the Provincial Information on August 2, and today it was confirmed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

As the new PIO, Atty. Cojamco said that their information dissemination will reach the rural areas of the Province of Palawan through the various platforms such as social media and radio broadcasts.

Cojamco also said that in collaboration with his staff, his office will fight the ‘fake news’ against the Provincial Government.

“We have news beats and we have assigned staffs to monitor each and every social media accounts and news pages. We constantly check the news they release and if there are some errors and mistakes in the news, Your Honor, we’ll call them immediately and we have our own fact-checking and we’ll release the data that is correct so any misinformation to the public will be corrected. ” He expressed.

Atty. Christian Jay Cojamco is a resident of the Municipality of Aborlan. He has served as a Court Decongestion Officer, University Instructor and is also a Private Litigation Lawyer.
