The Municipality of San Vicente Mayor Amy Alvarez on Thursday, September 9, said in a statement that she tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Mayor Alvarez, she was taken to the hospital yesterday morning after the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result showed that she was positive for COVID-19.

Alvarez added that, the Municipal Health Office (MHO) immediately started contact tracing and antigen testing on her direct and indirect contacts to prevent the spread of the virus.

The mayor apologized for the delayed services due to her hospitalization. She said, meetings and activities that do not require the presence of the local chief executive should be continued. If her doctor allows, she can participate via teleconference.
