Coron procures trike for waste collection

Municipal Mayor Marjo Reyes of Coron town announced that their municipality procured trikes also known for its brand as Chariot to improve the solid wastes collection especially in narrow streets not previously served by bigger waste collection vehicles.

He said that only trikes can accessed some of the town’s narrow streets, justifying the purpose of the trike also known with its brand as Chariot.

“Ang mga bagong chariots na ito ay para sa mas makikipot na eskenita, upang mas mapabilis at maging mas maayos ang koleksyon ng basura kahit sa mga lugar na hindi naaabot ng malalaking sasakyan,” Mayor Reyes explained.

The mayor emphasized that this trikes utilized in solid wastes collection in the municipality of Coron has been useful specifically in navigating narrow streets not served by garbage trucks and compactors.

“Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy na tumatakbo ang ating solid waste system sa tulong ng garbage trucks, truck compactors, existing chariots (puti) at ngayon, ang mga bagong chariots (pula),” Reyes said.

The town’s chief executive likewise reminded his constituents to strictly comply with the provisions of the Republic Act 9003 also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 specifically on the segregation of solid wastes at source.

“Muli po nating hinihikayat ang lahat na mag-segregate ng basura. Ihiwalay ang mga nabubulok, di-nabubulok at recyclable,” Mayor Reyes urged the public.
