A two-day CCP Theater Workshop organized by the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the Palawan government is set to be finished today as part of efforts to promote and preserve the rich culture and arts of the province.

The workshop aims to provide a platform for local artists, performers, and enthusiasts to learn and showcase their talents in various aspects of theater production, including acting, stage design, costumes, and lighting.

The workshop featured Orlan Absin from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Cultural Exchange Department Technical Team and Best Supporting Actor of the 18th Cinemalaya Film Festival and Esquire Magazine’s Actor of the Year (2022) Soliman Cruz, who both served as mentors and facilitators for the participants.

Absin and Cruz shared their knowledge and experiences in theater arts and guided the participants in developing their skills and techniques.

The organizers hope that the cultural theater workshop will not only serve as a platform for artistic development but also as a means of promoting Palawan as a cultural destination for tourists.

The CPP artists are also set to perform tomorrow, April 28 in a play entitled Art in the Work Place: Sining Alay sa Manggagawa to give recognition to Palawan local fisher folks.

With its diverse cultural heritage, Palawan is considered one of the most beautiful and ecologically rich islands in the world.

The cultural theater workshop presented an opportunity to showcase the province’s unique cultural identity.
