A mildly venomous Dog-Toothed Cat Snake was turned over to the Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Office (WTMO) of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) on October 19 by Mr. Zandro Musa in El Nido, Palawan.
The successful rescue operation was achieved through the collective endeavors of PCSDS-WTMO, DENR-PAMO (Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Palawan), and LGU-MENRO (Local Government Unit – Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office) in El Nido, Palawan.
The snake, measuring approximately 1.5 meters in length, was discovered inside a room by Musa. Acting responsibly, they temporarily handled the snake while coordinating with PCSDS for its safe retrieval. Thanks to their timely response and the snake’s good health, it was promptly released back into its natural habitat.
The PCSDS is urging anyone who encounters or rescues wildlife to report the cases and hand over the animals to their office.
