Ang tanggapan ng Palawan Provincial Department of Education (DepEd) ay pansamantalang sarado upang ma-disinfect ang mga opisina dahil sa umanong indibidwal na nagpositibo sa COVID-19 swab test ayon kay DepEd Officer In Charge Schools Division Office (OIC-SDS) Dr Arnie Ventura.

“Siya po ay taga malayo pong munisipyo, sa Cagayancillo… ilang beses siyang pumunta sa Division’s office para makapag-transact ng business. After po ng mga transactions na ‘yun [ay] uuwi na po sana siya sa Cagayancillo [pero] syempre requirement po sa travel ay magpaswab test [at] ang result ng swab test ay positive.”

Kasalukuyan namang nagsasagawa ng contact tracing ang mga awtoridad upang malaman kung sino ang mga nakasalamuha ng nagpositibo sa virus.

“…vine-verify pa po sa aming logbook kung ilang beses siyang pumunta sa division office para makapagtrasact ng business. Since nakipagtransact po siya sa divisions office no’ng mga nakaraang araw kaya po nagkaroon po kami ng contact tracing…”

Ayon kay Ventura, 11 ang bilang ng mga empleyadong natukoy sa isinagawang contact tracing kaya naman ang rekomendasyon ay i-home quarantine muna ang mga ito.

“Sa simula, na-identified namin ang 11 na staff ng division office na nagkaroon po ng close contact sa COVID positive. As of now po naka home quarantine [yun] ang advice po muna in coordination with IATF.”

Siniguro naman ni OIC-SDS Ventura na maglalabas sila ng advisory muli upang ipaalam sa publiko kapag bukas na ulit ang kanilang tanggapan para sa mga transaksyon.

“Disinfection activity po throughout the day sa lahat po ng offices ng Schools Division… Pagtuloy na po ulit ang operation [ng School’s Division Office ay] maglalabas po kami ulit ng advisory… Tinitiyak ko po na ma-update yung mga tao na nasa Divisions Office po at nakikicoordinate po sa Provincial Health office at IATF. ”

Samantala, inihayag niya na walang katotohanan na ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 ay isa sa mga nakasama sa meeting na isinagawa noong nakaraang linggo ni suspended SDS Dr Natividad Bayubay dahilang hindi pagdaan sa quarantine at paglabag sa health protocols matapos itong dumating sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.
