DOH, NNC recognize Puerto Princesa as outstanding nutrition program implementer

The regional office of the Department of Health (DOH) and National Nutrition Council (NNC) recognized Puerto Princesa City as the most promising city in region in terms of the implementation of its nutrition programs.

Also recognized were three outstanding local nutrition officers and Barangay Bancao-Bancao as finalist and an outstanding barangay nutrition committee, as among the regional nutrition awardees of MIMAROPA.

DOH Regional Director Mario Baquilod and Karina Santiago of the National Nutrition Council-MIMAROPA conferred the plaque of recognition recently at Acacia Hotel, Muntinlupa City.

Maria Concepcion Solidum, the City Nutrition Action Officer, was adjudged as 2nd placer. The city’s nutrition program coordinator, Rafaelito delos Santos, bagged the 1st place, besting all other nutrition program coordinators in the region.

Arsenio Nieves Jr. of Barangay Sta. Lourdes on the other hand was chosen as an outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS).

The plaques and as well as the awardees were presented to the city officials and city government employees yesterday morning during the flag-raising ceremony.

The barangay officials of Bancao-Bancao headed by Brgy. Captain Gayjun Dangan and the entire barangay council members was present during a short ceremony held at the city hall grounds yesterday.
