To all:
At 10:55 this morning (06 February 2019), a fire broke out at the older of our two power plants located at Barangay Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City.
Our plant operators and personnel swiftly acted to contain the fire using all available firefighting equipment at site. The rapid actions of our team were all in accordance with stringent fire handling protocols and trainings.
As a result, no one was injured during the incident and none of the surrounding areas of the plant were damaged. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared a “fire-out” at 11:49 this morning and all power was restored by 5:09pm this same day. An investigation on the cause of the fire is now underway.
Prior to this incident, Delta P has reached over 1.3 million man-hours without any incidents. This is the first incident of this type in over 10 years of Delta P’s operations.
We regret any inconvenience we have caused because of this incident and thank you for your patience. We worked non-stop to ensure that one of our two plants resumed operations before sundown today so that Palaweños would not have to endure the night without electricity.
