Pagbabalik ng liquor ban sa Puerto Princesa, isinusulong

Isinusulong ni City Councilor Elgin Damasco ang pagbabalik ng liquor ban sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa habang nasa ilalim pa ng general community quarantine o GCQ ang lungsod.

Ayon kay konsehal Damasco, hindi maganda ang naging resulta ng lifting ng liquor ban sa lungsod sa unang dalawang araw pa lamang kaya kailangan agad itong mapag-usapan at ma-aksyunan.

“Dapat lang ho talaga na ibalik ‘yung liquor ban dahil nitong mga nakaraang araw, ilang araw pa lang ho na ibinalik ‘yung pagtanggal sa liquor ban, e napakarami pong responde ng ating Anti-Crime sa mga lasing, nag maoy. Higit sa lahat, grabe po ‘yung nangyari doon sa BM, nagpatayan… magdamagan silang nag-inuman tapos nagka-initan ‘yung maglive-in partner,” ani Councilor Damasco sa panayam ng programang ‘Chris ng Bayan’ sa Palawan Daily.

Paliwanag ni Damasco, ito ay gagawin lang naman upang maiwasan ang mga kahalintulad na aksidente at krimen na may kinalaman sa pag-inom ng alak.

Hindi anya ang mga ganitong uri ng problema ang dapat na pokus sa ngayon bagkus ay ang ating patuloy na paglaban sa COVID-19 kaya hiling nito na maintindihan siya ng taong bayan.

“Sana ay maintindihan ng ating mga kababayan kung isa po tayo sa magsusulong na habang hindi pa naibabalik sa normal ang lungsod, ipagbabawal muna ang pag-inom ng alak o ang pagbebenta ng alak,” paliwanag ng konsehal.

“Dapat ang tinututukan natin ngayon ay ang COVID-19 na ito at hindi ‘yung mga maoy. Kaya tayo magsusulong tayo na sana ay bawiin nalang muna ng ating punong lungsod ang kanyang executive order na binabalik ang karapatan ng tao na bumili ng alak,” dagdag ni Damasco.

Samantala, sa Facebook post ni City Information Officer Richard Ligad, kahapon, May 17, sa loob lamang ng tatlong oras mula alas otso ng gabi hanggang alas onse, nakapagtala kaagad ang 911 ng tatlong aksidente sa kalye at sampung nag maoy na lahat ay resulta matapos uminom ng alak.
