Makatatanggap ng P3,000 year-end incentives bago mag-Pasko ang nasa 4,500 na job order employees at contract of service employees ng Puerto Princesa City Government, kasama ang Barangay Health Workers, Microscopists, Registered Nurses at Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO).

Ito ay matapos aprubahan kahapon, Nobyebre 18, ng Sangguniang Panlungsod sa pangunguna ni Vice Mayor Maria Nancy Socrates, ang resolusyong nag-o-otorisa kay Mayor Lucilo Bayron na magbigay ng year-end incentives sa mga kwalipikadong empleyado ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod.

Bago ito ay tumungo sa City Council si City Budget Officer Regina Cantillo para pormal na hingin ang basbas ng Konseho.

Ayon kay Cantillo, naglaan ang City Budget Office ng P13,500,000 na pondo para rito na kinuha mula sa savings ng operating expenses sa lahat ng proyekto at programa. Dapat naman umanong nakapagsilbi ang empleyado ng apat na buwan para makatanggap ng bonus.

“As of October 31 employed sila, at least nakapag-render sila ng four months [na serbisyo],” giit pa ni Cantillo.

Sa panayam ng Palawan Daily News, nilinaw ni Cantillo na tigsampung empleyado lamang sa tanggapan ng mga Konsehal at Bise-Mayor ang makatatanggap ng insentibo dahil wala silang savings.

“Wala silang savings. Ang pagkukunan nga ng ibibigay sa kanila from the executive department,” saad pa niya.

Natuwa naman si City Councilor Gregorio Ventura dahil kahit hindi umano napagbigyan ang kaniyang panukalang P5,000 cash gift ay may P3,000 namang matatanggap ang mga kawani.

Nauna rito ay nag-privilege speech si Ventura at hiniling na magpasa ng resolusyong humihiling sa Alkalde na maglaan ng pondo para maging masaya ang empleyado ngayong Pasko na agad ding inaprubahan ng Konseho.
