Puerto Princesa expects more cruise ship arrivals in 2020

Puerto Princesa is expecting 21 cruise ship arrivals in the next two years, said the City Tourism Office (CTO).

In a recent interview with CTO operations officer and promotions marketing chief Michie Meneses, she said the city is now looking forward for seven cruise ship visits in 2020 and another 14 by 2021.

Meneses said the City has around 14 scheduled cruise ship arrivals this 2019, and the first ship to arrive in 2020 is already scheduled January 11.

“Iyong first [cruise ship] natin sa 2020 [ay sa] January 11. Noong 2019 [naman] around 14 [ang cruise ship visits natin], may mga cancellation na dalawa [kasi],” said Meneses.

She said the Silver Spirit, which was the second to the last cruise ship for 2019, has docked at the port of Puerto Princesa morning of December 26 carrying around 450 passengers.

Meneses also added that the last cruise ship visit for this year, the Aida Vita, which she said was scheduled December 28, Saturday, has 1,200 passengers.
