MIMAROPA awaits for lab test result of 23 PUIs

Apart from the latest COVID-19 positive case recorded in the Province of Marinduque, bringing the total case in the region into nine as of March 31, the Department is also awaiting for the laboratory test result of 23 Persons Under Investigation (PUIs).

Data from the “COVID-19 Surveillance Update” of CHD-MIMAROPA showed that in MIMAROPA Region, aside from the 434 PUIs who are now undergoing investigations, there are two PUIs in the Province of Romblon awaiting for their test result from RITM, four in Occidental Mindoro, 12 in Oriental Mindoro and five in the Province of Palawan. The said 23 persons belong to the 115 total PUIs, of which 83 of them turned out to be negative from COVID-19, while the remaining nine were positive.

In Palawan, in Situational Report No. 114 of the Provincial Information Office (PIO), there are 29 PUIs currently in the whole province and 31 PUIs in the City of Puerto Princesa and 1,651 Persons Under Monitoring (PUM).

Meanwhile, the “COVID-19 Surveillance Update” also showed that out of 676 individuals who are in different categories, 654 of them are Filipinos while around 0.15 percent to 0.59 percent are foreigners.

DOH-CHD MIMROPA in earlier discussion with the media likewise explained to the public that admitted PUIs are those who have shown moderate or have severe illness while those home quarantined are PUIs who have mild illness.
