Pbgen quesada, nangako ng zero election-related incidents sa  2025 nle sa mimaropa

Ipinahayag ni PRO MIMAROPA Regional Director Police Brigadier General Roger L. Quesada ang pangako ng rehiyon na tiyakin ang isang mapayapa at ligtas na halalan, nangakong walang magiging election-related incidents sa 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) at sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections.

“Layunin naming magbigay ng ligtas na kapaligiran para sa mga botante, na walang karahasan, at magpapatuloy kaming magsikap upang mapanatili ang zero election-related incidents at maprotektahan ang integridad ng proseso ng halalan,” ani PBGen Questada.

Iniulat ng Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division na walang naitalang election-related incidents sa MIMAROPA noong 2022 NLE, at ipinangako ni PBGen Quesada na ipagpapatuloy ito sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatupad ng mga pinakamahusay na kasanayan at pinatibay na hakbang laban sa lahat ng uri ng kriminalidad.

Bilang bahagi ng paghahanda para sa halalan, nagsagawa si PBGen Quesada ng sabayang inspeksyon sa mga COMELEC checkpoints noong Enero 12, 2025, bilang simula ng nationwide gun ban at iba pang pinalakas na hakbang sa seguridad para sa halalan.

“Ang mga checkpoint ay mahalaga sa pagpapanatili ng isang ligtas na kapaligiran sa halalan sa pamamagitan ng mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng mga batas, tulad ng pagbabawal sa mga armas, at tinitiyak na nasusunod ang mga direktiba ng COMELEC habang iginagalang ang mga karapatan at privacy ng mga mamamayan,” paliwanag ni PBGen Quesada.

Ayon sa Comelec Resolution No. 11067, ipinatupad ng PNP ang suspensyon ng bisa ng Permits to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR), na naglilimita sa pagdadala ng mga armas sa mga on-duty na unipormadong pulis at mga miyembro ng militar.

Pinaalalahanan ni PBGen Quesada ang mga may-ari ng baril na ang mga paglabag sa gun ban ay may mabigat na parusa, kabilang ang pagkakakulong, diskwalipikasyon mula sa pampublikong opisina o pagboto, at permanenteng pagkansela ng mga lisensya ng baril.

“Hinihiling namin ang pasensya at buong kooperasyon ng publiko sa mga law enforcement officers sa mga checkpoint. Sama-sama nating mapapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan, at matitiyak ang isang ligtas at maayos na proseso ng halalan,” dagdag ni PBGen Quesada, ang pinakamataas na opisyal ng MIMAROPA.
