Fossil fuel, Coal mining, and deforestation, what do they have in common?
We harness them in a manner where we dig and excavate and cut down trees in locations where a particular resource (ex. Oil deposit, gold, etc.) is found. And what does this entail? Damage to nature and natural resources not only affects wildlife habitat but also affects some if not all indigenous people who reside in such environments.
We do have some alternative or renewable resources (ex. Energy) which are already available in the market. However, the prices of the equipment needed just to build such machines and facilities are very expensive not yet adding the cost to maintain them.
Even though reports and data show that our world particularly the ozone layer is healing, this wouldn’t be enough if what we take from nature is greater than what we give back.
A lot of people from around the world nowadays have their own unique and safe solutions to produce, conserve and save energy and care for the environment at the same time.
Little efforts go a very long way, like when you are washing your vehicles, instead of using a water hose use a bucket or a pail instead and save a lot of water in the process. You can also water your plants using the water from after you clean your dishes, if you have to throw or discard a piece of paper or plastic, instead of throwing it anywhere, just keep it in your pocket for the meantime and dispose of it later onto a waste bin. These are just a few of the things we can do to help save and conserve our environment, we just need to be more aware of them.
Time flies fast, and so does the deterioration of our world, if we do not act now grave consequences from natural disasters awaits us, as we already have witnessed more than once in our lives. We cannot afford to go into another Ice age or die from extreme heat due to rising temperatures. And can we bear in our conscience all the animals that are already gravely affected by our actions towards nature.
We must double our efforts in protecting the environment, we are not just doing it for the sake of being recognized, we must do it to protect not only the world but the lives of the future generation. We are still far away from reaching the stars even with all of the ungodly technological advances that we have done we are still far from colonizing any planet and making them habitable.
So why can’t we do all of these for the only place that we have given up so much for us?
Support our efforts in planting trees and in making sure that those trees will grow, we must protect them at all costs, reduce the need for wood products, reuse or better yet reconstruct all establishments, private villages, and commercial spaces and always remember to recycle to at least lessen the pollution around us.
Plant trees today for a better tomorrow as one might say, this much is true, and if we don’t act now, every mountain we carve, every water system poison, and every forest we destroy will surely bring us to our inevitable demise.
