At least 1,603 indigent senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Palawan have received a pension coming from the Palawan Provincial Government and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) a press release from Palawan Provincial Information Office (PIO) confirmed.
It said that the Local Social Pension beneficiaries are identified from the municipalities of Aborlan, Narra, Quezon, Bataraza, El Nido and Linapacan.
P750,000 were allocated to at least 500 senior citizens from Quezon, P880,500 to Bataraza’s 601 senior citizens, P76,500 for Linapacan’s 51 indigent elders and P355,500 for El Nido’s 237 senior citizens.
For PWDs, the government allocated P135,000 for 37 PWD members in Linapacan, P132,000 for 44 PWDs in El Nido, P360,000 for 40 PWDs in Aborlan, P540,000 for 60 PWDs in Narra, and P315,000 for 35 PWD members in the town of Bataraza.
In total, the Palawan Provincial Government budgeted an estimated P2.8 million worth of financial aid for hundreds of its indigent senior citizens and PWDs.
The Local Pension Program is a program of the Palawan Provincial Government inclined to support the everyday necessary need such as maintenance medicine and food of indigent senior citizens and PWDs.
