The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has successfully completed the expansion of Parian Bridge 1 along Puerto Princesa South Road, significantly increasing road capacity and safety in the municipality of Narra.

Palawan 2nd District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, that the project involved the construction of two additional lanes, each 9.20 meters wide and 16.30 meters long, supported by steel I-beam girders.

The expanded bridge now includes approach pavements, sidewalks, slope protection, metal guardrails, solar studs, and LED street lights to enhance nighttime safety.

Aligned with the “Bagong Pilipinas” governance initiative, this infrastructure upgrade aims to improve the local transportation network, thereby fostering economic growth and development in the region.

The enhanced bridge is expected to facilitate smoother and safer travel, benefitting both residents and businesses in Narra and its surrounding areas.
