Na-trap na salt water crocodile sa isang fishpond sa Balabac, iniligtas

Isang buwaya ang nailigtas kamakailan lamang mula sa pagkaka-trap sa isang sementadong fishpond sa Bayan ng Balabac.

Ayon sa post ng PCSD noong ika-14 ng Mayo, isang 180 kilong babaeng buwaya na may habang six feet at 11 inches ang lapad ang na-rescue ng kanilang mga tauhan, katuwang ang iba pang ahensiya ng gobyerno noong Mayo 13 sa Sitio Monsod, Brgy. Melville, Balabac.

Sa impormasyon mula sa PCSD Facebook account, binanggit nilang ayon umano kay Kapt. Jaberon Bacar, hinahabol ng nasabing salt water crocodile (Crocodylus porous) ang target nitong pagkain nang aksidente umanong mahulog sa isang sementadong fishpond na pagmamay-ari ng nagngangalang Santiago Sunio.

Bunsod nito ay agad umano nila itong ipinaalam sa mga kinauukulan at sa pamamagitan ng handcuff method sa magkatuwang na pagkilos ng PCSD Staff personnel, Balabac Special Boat Unit (SBU), Maritime Group-2nd Special Unit of Operation (SOU), Municipal Police ng Balabac, PCG-Balabac, Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA) at ang Special Civilian Armed Forces (SCAA) ay matagumpay na naialis doon ang nabanggit na hayop.

Inilagak ng mga rescuer sa pansamamtalang tirahan ang nasabing buwaya upang masiguradong hindi ito maiinitan ng araw.

Agad din umanong isinagawa ng mga kinauukulan ang pagsusukat at tagging at pagkatapos nito ay ibinalik na sa natural niyang tahanan ang salt water crocodile.

Panawagan naman ng tagapagsalita ng PCSDS na si Jovic Fabello na kapag makatagpo ng similar na insidente ay huwag mataranta at manatiling kalmado, agad na ipagbigay-alam sa mga kinauukulan at hintayin ang mga rescuer bago gumawa ng anumang hakbang. Aniya, maaari itong iulat sa PCSD, DENR at LGU o sa munisipyo o barangay.

Binigyang-diin din ni Fabello ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng tamang impormasyon ng mga mamamayan ukol dito dahil sa pagkakaroon aniya ng tamang impormasyon ay hindi lamang makapagliligtas sa hayop kundi ng mga residente ng isang lugar.
