One wounded in government troops between communist terrorist group in Roxas, Palawan

The 3rd Marine Brigade confirmed that the military had an encounter against an undetermined number of the communist terrorist group, yesterday morning, July 12, 2021 in Sitio Maselwangon, Brgy. Nicanor Zabala, Roxas, Palawan.

A member of the Philippine Marines Corps was wounded between the clash of that did not last long after the opponents withdrew. Government forces recovered one (1) caliber 45 pistol, two (2) hand grenades, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Col. Jimmy D. Larida, the Commander of Joint Task Force Peacock/3rd Marine Brigade said that their forces will relentlessly continue to go after the remaining communist terrorists in the Province of Palawan and urge them to surrender and return to the fold of the law, instead of facing the perils of going against the government.

“There is hope waiting for them through the rebel returnee program under the Palawan Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC),” he added.
