PNP Prov’l Command condemns NPA attack against Dumaran MPS personnel

The Provincial Police Office (PPO) condemned the recent attack of the New People’s Army (NPA) against the two personnel of Dumaran Municipal Police Station(MPS) and called it “a total disregard of human life and a heinous. act of terror.”

“The Palawan PPO denounces the attack of the communist terrorists with their insincerity to a lasting peace…; though their evil intent did not prosper,” according to a press statement shared to the media by PPO Spokesperson, PCapt. Ric Ramos.

The said recent shooting incident against Dumaran MPS Chief of Police, PCapt. Erwin Carandang and PCpl. Mark Russel Evangelista was transpired in So. Ibangley, Brgy. Abongan, Taytay, Palawan. This is the same area of which a similar incident was happened yesterday involving personnel of Marine Batallion Landing Team (MBLT)-3, resulting to the death of a soldier and three others wounded.

“The policemen are non-combatants and at that time were dispatched to conduct a follow up operation to effect the arrest of most wanted persons in hiding at nearby towns. It is a law enforcement effort to maintain peace and order of the community, and to keep a person in conflict with the law into a lawful custody.”

As of press time, the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of Taytay MPS is conducted clearing operations and in-depth investigation regarding the incident.
