Two fishermen were arrested in Barangay 2, Roxas, Palawan, on Friday, July 31, 2026, following the service of an arrest warrant for violations of the Philippine Fisheries Code.
The joint law enforcement operation was led by the Roxas Municipal Police Station under PMAJ Marvin R. Herrera, in coordination with the 2nd SOU-Maritime Group, the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Palawan PPO.
The suspects, aged 54 and 26 and both residents of Barangay 4, Roxas, were taken into custody pursuant to a warrant issued on July 27, 2026, by Hon. Ronilo A. Beronio, Presiding Judge of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of Roxas–Cagayancillo.
The two face charges for violating Section 95 of Republic Act No. 10654, which prohibits the use of active gear in municipal waters and bays. The court has set a recommended bail of ₱36,000 for each of the accused.
The arrested individuals were informed of their constitutional rights at the scene and are currently detained at the Roxas Municipal Police Station pending further legal disposition.
