A 70-year-old faith healer was shot dead inside her home in Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon, Palawan, on Friday evening, July 31, 2026, after two unidentified men posing as customers ambushed her at her doorstep.
According to reports released by the Quezon Municipal Police Station, the incident unfolded at around 7:00 PM. Two suspects wearing black long-sleeve shirts approached the victim’s residence under the guise of buying goods from her home-based store. When the victim, identified as alias Vilma, stepped toward the threshold, the assailants immediately opened fire.
Though wounded in the initial volley, the elderly woman managed a desperate retreat deeper into her house. The suspects pursued her indoors and unleashed a secondary barrage of gunfire before fleeing.
First responders from the MDRRMO rushed the unconscious victim to the Quezon Medicare Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Crime scene investigators recovered five fired bullets and seven empty .45-caliber cartridge cases from the interior of the house. As of Saturday, August 1, 2026, the motive behind the execution-style slaying remains unknown.
