City Council nais ipasilip sa BIR ang mga produktong petrolyo sa PPC

Nagpasa ng resolusyon ang City Council sa pamamagitan ni City Councilor Roy Gregorio G. Ventura na humihiling sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) National na suriin ang kalidad ng produktong petrolyo sa mga fuel depot at maging sa mga  gasoline stations sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.

“Dahil sa Metro Manila ay marami na po silang na-penalize na hindi sumusunod na nagbabayad ng tamang buwis…i-request ang BIR-National na instraksyonan ang kanilang opisina dito [sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa] o magpadala ng mga bihasa [na mga indibidwal] tungkol dyan [sa kalidad ng mga petrolyo sa merkado],” ani Ventura.

Binanggit din ni Konsehal Ventura, gaya ng ginawa sa Metro Manila, na may nagbebenta ng mura na produktong petrolyo sa kadahilanang hindi sila nagbabayad ng tamang buwis.

“…Bureau of Internal Revenue na [ang] mag-conduct ng total inspection sa lahat ng mga depot [at] gasoline stations dito sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa kung sila po ay sumusunod doon sa [correct] tax revenue ng ating Pamahalaang Nasyunal. Kasi po may balita ako kaya ‘yung iba dyan [na mga negosyante ay] nakakabenta ng mura eh [kasi] hindi po sila nagbabayad ng tamang buwis. Meron pong mga code ‘yan sa bawat gasolina na may kulay [at] kapag may kulay ay galing sa gobyerno [at] ibig sabihin po niyan [ay] dumaan [ito] sa BIR, ” pahayag ni Ventura.

Isinulong din ng Konsehal na magpasa ng ordinansa na magre-regulate sa mga naglalako ng mga produktong petrolyo sa lungsod.

“Kailangan na rin po natin ma-regulate ‘yung mga naglalako ng gasoline [at] diesel dito sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa. Marami tayong nababalitaang naglalako dyan [ng mga produktong petrolyo] sa may West coast, norte…at sa southeast ng Puerto Princesa [City] na naka van na hindi po nagbabayad ng tamang buwis,” dagdag pa ni Ventura.

Samantala ang kahilingan ay bunsod narin ng privilege speech ni Konsehal Elgin Damasco dahil sa sobrang  taas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo dito sa lungsod kumpara sa ibang  munisipyo, gaya sa bayan ng Roxas at Taytay, Palawan
