The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conferred various recognitions to Puerto Princesa City including the Best Public Employment Service Office during the 4th regional DOLE year-end performance assessment held on February 17 in the province of Batangas.

The DOLE has conferred to Puerto Princesa City PESO the Best PESO in Special Program for Employment for Students (SPES), Best PESO in TUPAD Implementation, Special Citation in Labor Market Information (LMI) and Recognition for Support to DOLE programs.

Labor Market Information (LMI) on the other hand, is crucial for the PESO to facilitate efficient job matching, provide career guidance, and reduce skills mismatches between job seekers and employers. LMI connect workers and jobseekers with opportunities in emerging industries.

The City PESO is headed by PESO Manager Demetrio Lopez Jr.

PESO is a local government unit’s (LGUs) multi-service facility to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. Its core functions include local and overseas job matching, career coaching, administering, labor market information (LMI) dissemination, and implementing specialized DOLE programs like SPES, TUPAD, livelihood assistance and job fair.
