The city government of Puerto Princesa announced that it approved the P4.4 billion supplemental budget, with more than half a billion allocated for the construction of various drainage system projects in the urban areas.

The drainage system projects include the P189-million construction of San Manuel Catchment Area drainage system with sidewalk, P77-million construction of drainage system from North National Highway to Tumbaga Rd., Brgy. San Jose, P21-million construction of drainage system along Provincial Capitol to Canigaran from Macawili Rd., to outfall in Brgy. Bancao Bancao, P155-million construction of drainage system in Wescom Rd. Phase II, Brgy. San Pedro, P110-million construction ng drainage system mula Brgy. Matahimik Rd., to Purok Buhanginan Phase II in Brgy. San Manuel, P102-milion construction of drainage system of Mandaragat Outfall in Brgy. Mandaragat.

“Tinatayang nasa 182 proyekto ang nakapaloob sa SIP No. 2 na popondohan mula sa aprubadong pondo. Kabilang dito ang mga proyektong pang-imprastraktura tulad ng drainage systems, road networks, farm-to-market roads, mga gusali at iba pang istruktura, land improvements, at pagtatayo ng mga gusaling pampaaralan kabilang ang mga daycare centers. Bahagi rin ng mga ito ang mga proyektong isinumite bilang prayoridad ng mga punong barangay na dumaan sa pagsusuri at pag-apruba ng City Development Council (CDC),” the city government announced.

City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron has requested the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s approval of the 4.4 billon supplemental budget for 2026.

“Ang nasabing halaga ay sumasaklaw sa mga proyektong inendorso at inaprubahan ng City Development Council (CDC), na binubuo ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaang panlungsod, mga hepe ng tanggapan, 66 na punong barangay, kinatawan mula sa civil society organizations (CSOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), at iba pang sektor,” the city government said in a statement.

The City Planning and Development Coordinator, Engr. Jovenee C. Sagun said that with the approval of the city’s Annual Investment Program (AIP) the implementation of various projects reflected in the plan shall commence this 2026 until 2032.
