Paggawa sa new public market, nais ipatigil ni Mayor Bayron

Inamin ni Puerto Princesa City Administrator Atty Arnel Pedrosa na nais na ni Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo Bayron na putulin na ang kontrata sa kontraktor ng P190-milyon new public market project sa Old Buncag, Bgy Mandaragat.

Ayon kay Atty Pedrosa, nainis kasi si Mayor Bayron dahil sa mabagal na paggawa ng Square Meter Trading and Construction Company sa proyekto.

Sinabi pa ni Pedrosa na kung siya lang umano ang masusunod ay ipawawalang-bisa na nito ang kontrata.

“Kung ako lang masusunod kaagad, hindi ko na hintayin sila (City Engineering office), ang desisyon ko diyan ay ipa-terminate na kasi iyon din yata ang gusto ni Mayor, nainis siya, bumagal kasi” giit pa niya.

Magkagayunman, kailangan umano niyang hintayin ang magiging rekomendasyon ng City Engineering Office dahil problema umano nila ito at kung ano ang magiging rekomendasyon ng opisina ay iyon rin ang irerekomenda niyang gawin kay Bayron.

Idinagdag pa niya na ang unang narinig niyang problema kung bakit bumagal ang paggawa sa two-story public market ay nahirapan ang kontraktor na makakuha ng mga aggregates subalit sa kaniyang pakikipag-ugnayan kaninang umaga kay City Engineer Alberto Jimenez ay nagkaproblema rin raw ang kontraktor sa daanan ng mga trak dahil masikip ang lugar kaya isa-isang columns lang ang kaya nilang lagyan.

Mayroon naman umanong ginagawa ang kontraktor na hindi nakikita ng mga tao partikular na ang mga fabricated works na ginagawa sa ibang lugar at hindi sa pagtatayuan ng bagong palengke.

Kinumpirma rin ni Pedrosa na nakapagbigay na sila sa kontraktor ng 15 percent na mobilization fund para masimulan ang proyekto.

“Nakapagrelease kami diyan ng 15 percent na mobilization fund which is more or less around P25-P28 milyon,” sabi pa niya.

Kung sakali umanong hindi na matuloy ang kontrata ay babawiin ng City Goverment ang natitirang pera at ibabawas ang mga ginastos ng kontraktor.

Posible rin umanong magkaroon muli ng bidding para sa bagong kontraktor.

Matatandaang tinuligsa ni City Councilor Elgin Robert Damasco sa sesyon ng City Council noong Lunes, October 14, ang kapalpakan ng construction company dahil sa kaniyang pagbisita sa construction site ay kahit poste ay hindi pa umano natatapos.

Sa tarpaulin ng Kontraktor ay nakalagay umano na December 2,2018 ang pagsisimula ng paggawa at matatapos ito ng December 5,2019 o kabuuang 365 days subalit humingi umano ang kontrakator ng extension na hanggang January 2020.
