A business meeting recently with the Provincial Government led by Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez and Malaysian business council of Brunei Darussalam Indonesia Malaysia Philippines-East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) opened the doors of Palawan to new prospective investment from neighboring Asian countries.
Present during the business meeting were Datuk Roselan Mohammed, national chairman of BIMP-EAGA Malaysia, Datuk Sia Teong Heng, the CEO of SBC Corporation Berhad, Mr. Lewis Leiw of Kajang Rocks Quarry, Mr. Lee BK of Sterling Pharmaceuticals, Datuk CG Tan of Forever Living, Mr. Tan Hong Keng of Hong Leong Financial Group, Datuk Venkata Chellam of Chellam Plantations, Mr. Darren Lee of Cement Packaging Business.
Joining Governor Alvarez from the provincial government were the head of the infrastructure unit, legal office, tourism, health and agriculture offices. Also present were representatives of Palawan Chamber of Employers Commerce and Industry Inc.
During the meeting, the businessman and officials discussed the prospects of local industries such as tourism, agriculture, plantation, health care, quarry, road network, power, and internet link and connectivity in the province.
The Malaysian-based businessmen said that they are happy with the opportunity to visit the province and to know the current business picture of the locality.
“We are looking forward for some investments here in Palawan, we should have a strong connection as business partners and we’ve glad for the opportunity to listen to the discussants about how Palawan strived for success especially in tourism sector,” said Datuk Roselan Mohammed, national chairman of BIMP-EAGA Malaysia.
